Bus Stop Theology?

Okay so elephant in the room. Why the name? What does it mean? Most simply put, it is a play on my nickname growing up and the intent of my blog. Growing up, I was the man on the sandlot. When I got the football in my hands, good luck trying to bring me down. I was often compared to Jerome Bettis of the Pittsburgh Steelers. To me he was box office. I had to watch if he was playing. So naturally, I took on his nickname and Bus was born.

Okay, we got “bus” but what about the “stop theology”?

Well, that one as just as simple. I didn’t grow up with privilege, my family had to take advantage from Government help from time to time. So, I consider myself an everyday kind of guy. After I became a Christian as a pre-teen, many of my favorite memories were having my friends over, eating snacks and playing cards. We often would have theological conversations and I would share faith with my friends. This would even happen as we sat outside waiting for the school bus to arrive. Thus, we have literal “bus stop theology” happening.

My intent with this blog is to have that same spirit. I wanted to create a space where I can share my faith and address different topics in my own voice. Theology on a lay level, with a chill vibe, and a little bit of attitude sprinkled with humor. You have to supply your own snacks, however.
